Real Madrid will face Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday, August 14.
The captain and leader of "Los Blancos," Dani Carvajal, has criticized the congested fixture schedule for players. According to him, it is challenging to endure 72 matches in a season.
"Playing 72 matches in a season is unsustainable. There's no sense in it; such a pace cannot be maintained. The quality of the games decreases, not to mention the toll it takes on the players and our families. Those responsible for the schedule need to reassess it. I see no logic in this calendar," the Spaniard stated.
Additionally, Carvajal mentioned that after the 2024 European Championship, players who participated in the tournament did not have adequate rest.
Meanwhile, headlines have recently emerged about Real Madrid's star Vinícius Júnior attracting interest from Saudi clubs. However, his coach Carlo Ancelotti remains unfazed.
