The financial police in Bologna have seized 100% of the shares of the Italian football club Verona. It has been reported by Sky Sports.

The team's owner, Maurizio Setti, has become the subject of an investigation related to bankruptcy. He is suspected of unlawful activities concerning the transfer of Verona's shares from a bankrupt company to Star Ball Srl.

Due to these suspicions, the financial police, acting on the prosecutor's recommendation, decided to confiscate the club's shares from Setti.

It's currently uncertain how this will impact the club's financial status.

Verona is currently placed 16th in the Serie A standings after 17 matches. They recently secured a victory against Cagliari, ending a winless streak of 15 matches dating back to the end of summer. This win allowed Verona to move out of the relegation zone. In their next match, Verona will play against Salernitana, currently one of the bottom-performing teams in the league, at their home ground.
