The owner of Manchester United explained why he did not dismiss Ten Hag
The newly-appointed co-owner of Manchester United, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, explained why the club decided to retain Erik ten Hag as the head coach.
The club's shareholder believes that the coach had not previously received adequate support.
"The main problem at Manchester United is not the coach. It is a sports club – it must be competitive, there must be a sense of responsibility, but also support, as we are dealing with relatively young players. Historically, this environment has not been present here," Ratcliffe told BNN Bloomberg.
It was previously reported that Manchester United decided to continue working with Erik ten Hag as the head coach, and simultaneously offered him a new contract. The Dutchman, however, has set three conditions for agreeing to the new deal.
It is worth noting that the "Red Devils" finished the season in eighth place in the Premier League and won the FA Cup.
