The company Liberty Media, which owns Formula 1, plans to acquire the MotoGP World Championship for approximately 4 billion euros.

An agreement between Liberty Media and Dorna Sports, the rights holder of MotoGP, WorldSBK, and MotoE, may be announced in the coming days, ahead of the third stage of MotoGP-2024 at the Grand Prix of America, scheduled for April 12-14.

According to Motorsport.com, the deal between Liberty and Dorna Sports was finalized several weeks ago. Earlier, the Financial Times reported the completion of the sale agreement. The owners of Dorna Sports have always preferred Liberty, although Qatar Sports Investments and the company TKO also showed interest in acquiring the motorcycle racing championship. It is worth noting that Liberty Media has owned Formula 1 since 2016 when the company acquired a controlling stake for 4.4 billion dollars.
