The Opta supercomputer has named the favorite to win the UEFA Champions League 2023/24.

Based on data from simulations run by the supercomputer, Manchester City emerges as the frontrunner to claim victory in the prestigious club tournament. The chances of the Citizens defending their title as Europe's strongest team are estimated at 32.1%.

Trailing by more than double is Real Madrid, with odds of 15.4% to secure the trophy. Following closely behind are Inter Milan (11.6%) and Bayern Munich (10.1%). Rounding up the top five favorites is London's Arsenal with 8.4%.

The supercomputer has the least confidence in the chances of Danish side Copenhagen. In fact, it doesn't believe in them at all, assigning a probability of 0 for their triumph.

Manchester City is the reigning champion of the Champions League. Today marks the start of the round of 16. The Citizens will face Copenhagen, while Real Madrid will take on Leipzig.
