The oldest goal scorer at the professional level. Jaromír Jágr has broken his own record. VIDEO
Jaromír Jágr continues to play hockey, defying the odds at 52 years old. He currently represents Kladno, where he has once again etched his name in the record books.
Details: On Friday, September 20, Jágr's team faced off against Sparta Prague on home ice, securing a 4-2 victory. Jágr contributed to the scoreline with a goal that made it 3-0.
The Czech hockey legend has now surpassed his own record as the oldest goalscorer in professional hockey—he is currently 52 years and 218 days old.
Reminder: Jágr is a product of Kladno, playing for the club until 1991, when he moved to Pittsburgh. During his NHL career, he also donned the jerseys of Washington, the Rangers, Philadelphia, Dallas, Boston, New Jersey, and Florida. He returned to his hometown club in 2017.
This season is set to be his final one at the professional level, as he has announced plans to retire after the 2024/25 campaign.
