The National Hockey League has named the top three players of the week from December 25th to 31st.

The third star of the last week of December is defenseman Luke Hughes of the New Jersey Devils. He helped the Devils secure two victories and suffered one defeat last week. In the game against Columbus (4-3), Hughes scored a goal, contributed two assists, and scored one goal in the match against Ottawa (6-2). In the match against Boston (2-5), Luke added another goal to his tally. In five games, he accumulated five points, and New Jersey currently holds the tenth position in the Eastern Conference with 40 points.

The second star of the week is forward Artemi Panarin of the New York Rangers. The Rangers won twice and lost once last week.
