Details: Willem II, which is van Dijk's home club, announced the creation of a new youth tournament. It will be named the “Virgil's Legacy Trophy.”
The club announced the tournament with a video featuring van Dijk himself. In it, the Dutchman speaks about the objectives of the tournament, and archival footage of the young central defender's training sessions is shown.
The tournament kicks off on September 12, with 16 teams from around the world set to participate. Confirmed participants include Willem II, Groningen, Liverpool, Ajax, PSG, Southampton, Manchester City, Celtic, Juventus, PSG, Arsenal, and Inter.
