Netherlands and China won the first matches of the United Cup


In Sydney, Australia, the United Cup tournament continues with matches featuring the Netherlands against Norway and the Czech Republic against China.
In Group F, the opening match saw the Netherlands facing Norway. In the men's singles, Tallon Griekspoor and Casper Ruud competed. The Norwegian player easily triumphed over his opponent 2-0 (3-6, 4-6). In the women's singles, Arantxa Rus leveled the team's score by defeating Malene Helgo 2-0 (7-6, 6-1). The fate of the match rested on the mixed doubles encounter. The Dutch duo of Demi Schuurs and Wesley Koolhof defeated Ulrikke Eikeri and Casper Ruud 2-0 (7-6, 7-5), securing victory for the Netherlands.
In another match in Group E, the Chinese team faced the Czech Republic. Representing China, players triumphed in all three matches. Initially, Zhizhen Zhang defeated Jiri Lehecka 2-1 (5-7, 6-3, 6-4). Following that, Qingwen Zheng outperformed Marketa Vondrousova 2-1 (6-1, 2-6, 6-1). In the final match, the four athletes met in mixed doubles, where the Chinese representatives comfortably outplayed the European tennis players 2-0 (6-1, 6-2).
Recall that earlier matches took place in Group A, where the Spanish team prevailed over the Brazilians, and in Group C, British representatives defeated the tournament hosts, the Australians.
