Following the incident during a match between Khomas Nampol and Civics FC on 20 December 2024, the Namibia Football Association issued a public apology. The fourth official, who was helping to oversee the match, was wearing sandals and shorts, which was problematic. This violated the regulations on the attire of match officials.

In a formal message, the NFA said they were very unhappy about what happened. They explained that this kind of clothing is not allowed and makes the league look less professional. The group has asked for a complete report from the people who manage referees to look into this situation.

The NFA said sorry to the teams, sponsors, fans, and everyone else involved for this mistake. They promised to fix the problem and make sure it doesn’t happen again. The association also stressed that they want to keep the highest level of professionalism and honesty in Namibian football.
