One of today's major headlines is that Manchester City has won a legal case regarding alleged violations in their commercial dealings with affiliated companies. However, a new detail has emerged.

Details: According to the BBC, three Premier League clubs intervened in court in support of Manchester City. Their involvement played a crucial role in the final ruling.

These three clubs are Chelsea, Everton, and Newcastle. All of them believe that Manchester City did not breach any rules, and their legal teams participated in the proceedings on the side of the reigning English champions.

Interestingly, Everton faced severe consequences last season due to a breach of the same Premier League rule. The club was docked 8 points but managed to avoid relegation to the Championship.

Reminder: Manchester City is also currently facing a separate case involving 115 alleged breaches of financial fair play regulations. Hearings for this case began on September 16, with a verdict expected by spring 2025.
