The name of Terzic's successor at Borussia Dortmund has been announced

Today, Borussia Dortmund unexpectedly parted ways with their head coach, Edin Terzić.

According to Bild, the new head coach will be club legend Nuri Şahin, who has been Terzić's assistant since January. It is expected that Sven Bender will continue to work on the coaching staff.

For Şahin, this could be his second stint as a head coach. Prior to Borussia Dortmund, he managed Turkish Süper Lig club Antalyaspor, achieving 38 wins and 23 draws in 92 matches.

As a player, Şahin made 274 appearances for Borussia Dortmund, scoring 26 goals and providing 49 assists.

It's worth noting that Borussia Dortmund reached the Champions League final last season, where they were defeated by Real Madrid. However, in the Bundesliga, the Black and Yellows finished only in fifth place.
