The National Hockey League team Toronto Maple Leafs has extended the contract with their forward, Nylander, as announced on the organization's website.

It has been revealed that the Swedish hockey player has signed an eight-year contract with an annual salary of $11.5 million. Consequently, William Nylander will receive a total of $92 million over this period. This contract stands as the largest in the history of the club and will take effect from the upcoming season.

Additionally, the Swede will be among the top five players with the highest average salary in the league, following MacKinnon, McDavid, Panarin, and Matthews.

On June 27, 2014, William Nylander was selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round of the NHL draft, securing the overall eighth pick. On August 18, 2014, Nylander signed a three-year rookie contract with Toronto. In 2018, five minutes before the deadline, Nylander inked a new contract with Toronto worth a total of $41.77 million over six years.

In the current season, he has played 37 games, amassing 54 points (21+33).
