The Mexican legend will leave the Serie A outsider after the end of the season
Experienced Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa will no longer be a player for Salernitana starting this summer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Ochoa will leave the club as a free agent. His current contract with the club expires in June of this year.
However, the 38-year-old goalkeeper has no plans to retire. Ochoa has been included in the Mexican national team squad for the past five World Cups and has been its main goalkeeper in three of them. He aims to play in the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted in Mexico. Ochoa has played a total of 151 matches for the Mexican national team.
Ochoa has been playing for Salernitana since January 2023, establishing himself as a legend in Mexican football. In the current season, Ochoa has participated in 20 Serie A matches, managing to keep a clean sheet in only one of them.
Before joining Salernitana, Ochoa played for Club America in his home country, Mexico, and had stints in Europe with Malaga, Granada, Ajaccio, and Standard Liege.
