The match still hasn't started! Will the Salzburg vs Pafos Europa League clash be played today?
The stadium in Salzburg has turned into a small swimming pool.
Details: The organizers of the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round match between Austria's Salzburg and Cyprus's Pafos have officially announced that the match will be completed today. Earlier, the game was halted due to torrential rain, and the pitch was literally submerged under water.
Reports indicate that despite the heavy downpour, stadium crews managed to deal with the flooding. Both teams will return to the pitch for a new warm-up, and the restart is scheduled for 21:15.
Earlier, the teams kicked off at the scheduled time, but by the 16th minute, the rain in Salzburg intensified, causing so much water to accumulate on the field that playing football became impossible, leaving the referee with no choice but to suspend the match.
Reminder: Breaking! The Europa League match between Salzburg and Pafos was suspended. What's going on?
