Yesterday, several matches of the 1/64 finals in the women's singles bracket kicked off the prestigious clay court Masters tournament in Madrid. However, the majority of first-round matches will take place today, April 24, and tomorrow.

Dailysport has prepared information for you about who is favored to win the tournament.

World number one Novak Djokovic has decided not to participate in the Madrid tournament to focus on preparation for the Masters in Rome and Roland Garros.

In Djokovic's absence, bookmakers consider Carlos Alcaraz as the favorite to win, especially since this tournament is on his home turf. His odds for triumph are at 2.5. However, there is expected to be strong competition from Australian Open winner Jannik Sinner, with odds of 3 for his victory.

In the women's bracket, bookmakers favor world number one Iga Swiatek with odds of 2.4. Following her is the recent Stuttgart Open champion Elena Rybakina with odds of 5.5. Meanwhile, Aryna Sabalenka's odds for victory are at 7.1.

All favorites will start the tournament from the 1/32 finals.

The Madrid Masters will run until May 5.
