The dramatic saga of Marseille's search for a new head coach is about to reach its conclusion.
Details: Habib Beye is no longer tied to Rennes by any commitments. The Senegalese specialist is currently unattached, and according to Fabrice Hawkins, this has allowed negotiations with Marseille's management to enter the home stretch. The legal obstacles that were blocking the appointment have finally been resolved.
Moreover, reports indicate that a fundamental agreement between Beye and Marseille has been reached. Both parties have already settled the terms of a personal contract, which will run until June 2027.
If all the paperwork is signed in the coming hours, Habib Beye could make his debut on the Marseille touchline as early as this Friday. The club is hopeful that the new coach will have enough time to prepare the team for the upcoming away match against Brest.
It's worth noting that Marseille's next Ligue 1 match against Brest is scheduled for Friday, February 20, at 20:45 Central European Time.
Reminder: Marseille wanted to appoint Xabi Alonso as head coach, but he declined the offer.
