The decision was taken by the Malian Football Federation due to the current situation in the country.

The 2025–2026 season of the Malian Ligue 1 was due to reach its matchday 19 this Saturday, 25 April. Derby Academie were due to face Stade Malien, whilst AFE were due to host FC Malicoura. However, these matches have been postponed.

The reason is the tense security situation that has prevailed across the whole of Mali since the morning of 25 April. Gunfire was heard in the capital, Bamako, and in other towns across the country. According to reports, the attackers have engaged army positions and the country is on high alert. This is why the Malian Football Federation has decided to postpone the two matches originally scheduled for this Saturday.
