Tomorrow night in Las Vegas, USA, the UFC on ESPN 53 event, also known as UFC Vegas 89, will take place.

In the main event of the evening, Brazilian fighter Rose Namajunas will face former UFC women's strawweight champion Amanda Ribas, who, after two consecutive losses, has changed weight categories. The bout will be contested in the women's flyweight division (up to 56.7 kg).

Rose Namajunas has only fought twice in the past two years, losing both fights by decision. Last year, she was defeated by Manon Fiorot at UFC Fight Night, and in 2022, Carla Esparza emerged victorious at UFC 274. Namajunas's last victory came in 2021 when she knocked out Weili Zhang in the first round at UFC 261 and then defeated her again by decision at UFC 268.

Amanda Ribas has previously competed in the strawweight division. At UFC Fight Night, she knocked out Luana Pinheiro in the third round. Prior to that, she was knocked out by Macy Barber in the main event of UFC Fight Night.

The main event of UFC on ESPN 53 will feature a heavyweight bout (up to 120.2 kg) between American Carlos Williams and Justin Tafa from Australia.
