The Liverpool tormentor is ready to offer their coach a new contract

Italian club Atalanta is ready to offer its current head coach, Gian Piero Gasperini, a new contract. According to the well-known insider Nicolò Schira, it's about a two-year agreement with the possibility of extending it for another season.

Despite interest from some big clubs, Atalanta's owner Antonio Percassi wishes to retain Gasperini. He has been leading the team since the summer of 2016, and it is with his name that the club's major successes in Serie A and the UEFA Champions League are associated.

In the current season, Atalanta is fighting for a place in the Champions League zone and occupies 6th place in the Italian championship, trailing 5th-placed Roma by 4 points. In the Europa League, the team advanced to the quarterfinals after a sensational victory over Liverpool on aggregate at Anfield. For a spot in the final, the club from Bergamo will compete against Marseille.
