Union Berlin, which ascended to the Bundesliga just five years ago, showcased phenomenal performance last season, securing a remarkable fourth place in the German league, thereby guaranteeing a spot in the group stage of the Champions League. However, the current season paints a much gloomier picture. After twelve rounds, the team occupies the second-to-last position in the German championship, and in the Champions League, the German club has only managed to secure one point after four games.

The club decided to take drastic measures and dismiss coach Urs Fischer, who guided the team to incredible success last season. The club's management extended an offer to the legendary player of Real Madrid, Raul, to become the team's coach, but he declined, as reported by Managingmadrid.

Currently, Raul serves as the coach of Real Madrid Castilla, the reserve team of Real Madrid, and he's reluctant to depart from the club. Sources indicate that Raul aspires to someday lead the first team of "Los Blancos."

Following his retirement as a player, Raul returned to Real in 2018, assuming the role of the coach for the youth team. Less than a year later, on June 20, 2019, he became the head coach of Real Madrid Castilla. By the end of his first season, Raul guided the team to victory in the UEFA Youth League. In the autumn of 2022, he declined an opportunity to lead Schalke 04, a club where he played during his playing career.

Amidst speculation about the possible departure of Carlo Ancelotti as the head coach of Real Madrid, considering Raul's promising coaching career, commendable results, and his loyalty to the club, his appointment to the senior team doesn't seem entirely unlikely.
