The legendary former striker of Manchester City, Sergio Agüero, is drawing ever closer to resuming his professional career.

As reported by DSportsRadio, the 35-year-old Argentine will commence training with his hometown club, Independiente, where another legendary ex-forward, Carlos Tevez, currently holds the position of head coach.

Agüero was compelled to conclude his career in 2021 due to cardiac issues, but his cardiologist has given the green light for the resumption of training.

It is noted that the ultimate decision regarding Agüero will rest with Tevez.

Over the weekend, Agüero attended the Avellaneda derby between Independiente and Racing, which concluded with Racing emerging victorious by a scoreline of 1-0.

With 260 goals to his credit, Agüero stands as the all-time leading scorer in the history of Manchester City. In the summer of 2021, he moved to Barcelona as a free agent but managed to play only five matches for them, scoring one goal.
