Daley Blind is back home.
Details: Ajax has officially announced the signing of 36-year-old defender Daley Blind.
The Dutchman joins the Amsterdam club from Girona, where he spent the last three seasons. According to media reports, Blind has signed a one-year contract and returns to Ajax as a free agent.
This marks Blind's third chapter with the Amsterdam giants. He came through the Ajax academy, made his first-team debut in 2008, later played for Manchester United, returned to Amsterdam in 2018, and has since featured for Bayern and Girona.
Michel could have played a key role in this deal. Ajax's new head coach knows Blind well from their time together at Girona and is counting on his experience, leadership, and tactical awareness.
It's worth noting that Blind has made 333 appearances for Ajax, scoring 13 goals and providing 21 assists. His previous club was Girona.
