The leader of Atletico Madrid has recovered from injury and is ready to play against Villarreal

Leading Atlético Madrid footballer Antoine Griezmann has fully recovered from his ankle injury.

According to Marca, the player has resumed training with the rest of the team without any restrictions. It is expected that Griezmann will be fully ready to play in the La Liga match against Villarreal, which is scheduled for April 1st.

Recall that the forward sustained the ankle injury during the match against Barcelona on March 17th (0:3). Due to the injury, the star footballer missed the friendly matches of the French national team against Germany (0:2) and Chile (3:2).

In the current season, 33-year-old Griezmann has scored 19 goals and provided 7 assists in 38 matches for Atlético Madrid across all competitions. Diego Simeone's team currently occupies the fifth position in the La Liga table, trailing Athletic Bilbao by just one point.
