The law applies to everyone! Referees Committee responds to Real Madrid's appeal over Valverde's red card
Valverde seriously let his team down.
Details: According to Topskills Sports UK, the Technical Committee of Referees for La Liga has reviewed Real Madrid's appeal regarding the red card shown to the 27-year-old “Galácticos” midfielder, Federico Valverde, which the Uruguayan received during the 29th round La Liga clash against Atlético Madrid.
After analyzing the incident that led to the dismissal, the referees committee decided to uphold the original decision made by match official José Luis Munuera Montero and suspend Valverde for two matches.
As a result, Valverde will miss La Liga fixtures against Mallorca and Girona, putting Arbeloa in a difficult position as he looks to assemble his squad for the upcoming games.
This season, Valverde has featured in 42 matches for the “Galácticos,” scoring 8 goals and providing 12 assists.
