The last European participant in the World Club World Cup 2025 has been determined

Following yesterday's matchday in the Champions League, the last European team to participate in the Club World Cup in the USA in the summer of 2025 has been determined.

According to UEFA's club ranking over the past four years, this spot has been secured by Red Bull Salzburg. Arsenal could have taken this place if they had reached the semi-finals yesterday, but they were eliminated by Bayern Munich.

The 12 European participants in the Club World Cup are

  • Real Madrid
  • Atletico Madrid
  • Bayern Munich
  • Borussia Dortmund
  • Juventus
  • Inter Milan
  • Paris Saint-Germain
  • Benfica
  • Porto
  • Red Bull Salzburg

It's worth noting that the 2025 Club World Cup will be held in a new format for the first time, featuring the top 32 teams from around the globe.

From South America, three participants have already been confirmed: Flamengo, Palmeiras, and Fluminense, with three more to be determined later.

Representing Asia will be Saudi club Al-Hilal, Japan's Urawa Reds, the winner of the AFC Champions League this season, and the highest-ranked team over the last four years.

Africa will have four representatives, with Al Ahly Cairo and Wydad Casablanca already confirmed.

From CONCACAF, Monterrey, Seattle, and Leon have secured their spots.

Oceania's representative will be New Zealand's Auckland City.

Additionally, the USA, as the host nation, will delegate one team to the tournament.

The 2025 Club World Cup will take place from June 15 to July 13.
