The Los Angeles-based club aims to recruit a third star to strengthen the team alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis. It remains unclear whether D'Angelo Russell will remain with the team, as Orlando Magic has shown interest in him. Additionally, the Lakers may be willing to sacrifice players to attract the third star, with Austin Reeves being mentioned as a potential sacrifice for Young's possible transfer.

Young is currently sidelined due to a finger injury sustained in February. This season, the 25-year-old player has averaged 26.4 points, 10.8 assists, and 2.7 rebounds. The Lakers are currently in 9th place in the Western Conference. Their next match is scheduled for the night of April 1st against Brooklyn on the road.
