The Lakers are interested in appointing the current NCAA champion as their head coach

The Los Angeles Lakers are targeting Dan Hurley for the head coach position, reports ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski.
The California club is preparing a substantial offer for the specialist. They are ready to propose a long-term contract to restore their NBA championship status.
The 51-year-old Hurley has been leading the University of Connecticut since 2018, and the team has won the NCAA championship for two consecutive years. Over six seasons at the helm, Hurley has secured 141 victories against 58 losses. Previously, he coached Rhode Island and Wagner.
It was previously reported that other candidates for the Lakers' head coach position include JJ Redick and Monty Williams, should he be released by Detroit.
Additionally, the NBA Finals series is set to start on the night of June 6th in Boston, where Boston and Dallas will begin their clash.
