The key Barcelona defender responded to interest from Bayern Munich

Barcelona's defender Ronald Araujo commented on the rumors linking him to a potential move to Bayern Munich in January.

The Uruguayan defender stated that he's not paying attention to such talks and is entirely focused on performing for his current team.

“Every transfer window we have stories about me, they also said about Man United last summer. My focus is on Barcelona. I’m doing my best for Barça, 100%. It’s a privilege to wear the captain’s armband, I feel the responsibility” Araujo said.

Previously, serious interest from the Munich club towards the footballer had been reported. Media outlets mentioned that Bayern's head coach Thomas Tuchel had personally reached out to the defender to discuss the possibility of joining the Munich side.

In the current season, Araujo has featured in 18 matches for Barcelona, scoring one goal. Transfermarkt values the 24-year-old player at 70 million euros, and his existing contract with Barcelona runs until the summer of 2026.
