The Elephants got off to a flying start in this international friendly tournament, which kicked off on Thursday 9 April in Abidjan.
The Ivory Coast side made a sensational debut in the FIFA Women’s Series. Facing Mauritania at the Alassane Ouattara Olympic Stadium in Ebimpe, the Ivorians didn’t hold back. They silenced their opponents from the very first whistle.
Priscille opened the scoring in the 6th minute before doubling the lead in the 13th and completing a hat-trick in the 31st minute. Habibou also distinguished herself with a brace in the 41st and 43rd minutes. Kakouna (23rd minute), Essi (64th) and Akebie (79th) also shone, scoring one goal each. The match ended with a resounding 8–0 victory.
