The defeat in DR Congo on Saturday 14 February was not an obstacle for the Elephants women's team.

Victorious in the first leg 2-0 in Abidjan on 8 February, Matthieu Esposito's team lost on Saturday 14 February in the second leg of the third round of African qualifiers for the 2026 U20 Women's World Cup in Poland.

At the Kibassa Maliba Stadium in Lumbumbashi, the Ivorians were defeated by the Congolese 1-0. This victory was not enough for DR Congo, which had lost the first leg. Thanks to Ivory Coast's victory on 8 February, it has reached the final round of qualifying for the World Cup finals, scheduled to take place in Poland this year. At the end of this fourth and final round, Africa's representatives at the U20 Women's World Cup will be known.
