This trip is part of the third round of African qualifiers for the 2026 U20 Women's World Cup in Poland.

On Wednesday 11 February 2026, the Elephants touched down on Congolese soil. They travelled to the Democratic Republic of Congo to face their Congolese counterparts in the second leg of the third round of these qualifiers.

Upon arrival, the players held their first training session at the Kibassa Maliba Stadium in Lubumbashi. The Ivorian juniors are in DR Congo with a scoring advantage. They beat the Congolese 2-0 in Abidjan in the first leg on 8 February. A win or a draw in Congo would send them to the final round of African qualifiers for the 2026 U20 Women's Cup in Poland.
