Former Arsenal player Nicolas Pépé has officially joined Spanish Villarreal as a free agent. The Ivorian signed a contract with the "Yellow Submarine" for two seasons, lasting until the summer of 2026.
Pépé, who has 38 caps and 10 goals for the Ivory Coast national team, became a free agent this summer after leaving Turkish club Trabzonspor.
In Europe, Pépé is best known for his time at Arsenal and Lille. In the summer of 2019, Arsenal paid Lille €80 million for the winger. During his time with the Gunners, Pépé made 112 appearances, scoring 27 goals and providing 21 assists.
