The Ivorian Football Federation inspects the Elephants' facilities in Philadelphia for the 2026 World Cup
Ivory Coast is preparing the ground in the United States for its national team.
With just a few months to go before the kick-off of the 2026 World Cup, which will be jointly organised by the United States, Canada and Mexico, the Ivorian Football Federation is doing everything it can to ensure the Elephants' participation. A delegation led by the federation's president, Yacine Idriss Diallo, is currently on a mission to the United States to inspect the facilities that will host the Ivorian national team during the global competition.
On the first day of the mission, Thursday 5 March, the delegation travelled to Philadelphia to visit the Philadelphia Union Training Facility, which will serve as the Elephants' base camp during the competition. Officials from the Ivorian football governing body also visited Lincoln Financial Field, the stadium selected to host the Ivorian team's matches during the group stage.
The mission continued in Wilmington, Delaware, where the Ivorian delegation met with John Carney for a working session focused on the logistical aspects of hosting the Ivorian national team.
For the final phase of the 2026 World Cup, Ivory Coast has been placed in Group E alongside Germany, Ecuador and Curaçao.
