The teams of Italy and the Netherlands faced off in the decisive match of the 2024 Davis Cup. The Italians entered this clash as the favorites, defending the title they won for the second time in history last year.

The first to take the court were Matteo Berrettini and Botic Van de Zandschulp. The Dutchman managed to challenge his opponent only in the first set, which remained competitive until the very end. Berrettini easily won the second set, leaving the outcome of the match in the hands of Jannik Sinner.

The world number one secured the historic victory for his team, defeating Tallon Griekspoor in straight sets. This match followed a similar pattern: the first set went to a tiebreak, and in the second, the Dutchman couldn't keep up.

Interestingly, the last team to win the Davis Cup twice in a row was the Czech Republic, in 2012 and 2013.
