Napoli will activate the clause to extend goalkeeper Alex Meret's contract until June 2025.

The current agreement with the goalkeeper expires at the end of the season but includes a clause for automatic extension under certain conditions.

For the extension to be automatic, the goalkeeper needed to play in 70% of the matches this season, a condition he successfully met. Currently, the goalkeeper has played 30 matches in all competitions, keeping a clean sheet in seven of them.

27-year-old Meret has been playing for Napoli since 2019. The Naples club paid €26 million to Udinese for the Italian goalkeeper. Meret has three caps for the Italian national team, making his debut in 2019.

Earlier reports indicated that Napoli is prepared to improve its transfer offer for the leader of Shakhtar Donetsk and the Ukrainian national team.
