The Indomitable Lionesses received by the Cameroonian President following their historic triumph at WAFCON
Crowned African champions on 16 August in Morocco, the Cameroonian players were honoured on 22 August at the Presidential Palace in Cameroon.
The Indomitable Lionesses made history for Cameroon by winning the very first Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title. The Cameroonian women’s team had an excellent run all the way to the final to lift the trophy.
Having first been welcomed by the president of the Cameroonian Football Federation, Samuel Eto’o, on the day of their return home, the Cameroonian players were this time received by the Head of State, Paul Biya.
This took place during a colourful ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Cameroon. The players were honoured by the President of the Republic. The Indomitable Lionesses did not leave the Presidential Palace empty-handed. President Biya promised each player a house in recognition of their efforts at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
