Manchester City's goalkeeper Ederson was recognized as the best goalkeeper of 2023 by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS).

In the voting, Ederson amassed 145 points, surpassing Aston Villa and Argentine national team goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, and Real Madrid's Thibaut Courtois, who secured second and third place, respectively.

Throughout 2023, the Brazilian secured victories in the UEFA Champions League, English Premier League, FA Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and the Club World Cup while playing for Manchester City.

In the current season, the 30-year-old Brazilian goalkeeper participated in 23 matches for the Citizens across all competitions, conceding 23 goals.

It's worth noting that Ederson's teammate at Manchester City, Norwegian forward Erling Haaland, was recognized by the IFFHS as the best footballer of the outgoing year.
