Real Madrid, now under the stewardship of new head coach José Mourinho, is determined to significantly bolster its defensive line this summer transfer window, with eyes firmly set on players from London’s Arsenal.
Details: According to TEAMtalk, citing Spanish outlet El Debate, the Gunners’ defenders Riccardo Calafiori and Piero Hincapié—both capable of playing centrally or on the left side of defense—are holding regular consultations with their agents about a potential move to the Santiago Bernabéu.
Both players are currently vying for game time in London and are eager to don the famous white shirt, with their combined transfer value estimated at around €50–60 million.
Nevertheless, the top priority for "the Special One" remains Manchester City’s star defender Joško Gvardiol, whose price tag is also around €60 million. Still, the Real Madrid hierarchy believes they can lure Gvardiol to Madrid for Mourinho’s ambitious new project. Should that deal fall through, Real is ready to immediately shift focus to the Arsenal alternatives.
Reminder: Two top English clubs have shown interest in Marcus Rashford.
