The Guinean Forward Serhou Guirassy: Dortmund’s Goal Machine Carrying the Club on His Shoulders!

In what has been turbulent season for Borussia Dortmund, one man's consistently stood out, Serhou Guirassy. The Guinean forward has been nothing short of phenomenal keeping Dortmund afloat with his goal scoring prowess.

Head coach Niko Kovac couldn’t hide his admiration for his star striker:

“Serhou Guirassy's our life insurance at the moment. He’s the player who's scored the most goals for us in the Bundesliga & Champions League. He’s very important player”

And the numbers don’t lie, 24 goal in 33 appearance across all competitions have cemented Guirassy’s status as Dortmund’s most lethal weapon. Whether in the Bundesliga or champions league, he delivers when it matters most.

A Lone Warrior in Dortmund’s Attack

Dortmund’s struggles this season have made Guirassy’s contributions even more crucial. Sitting 10th in the Bundesliga with 35 point, the club has faced immense pressure. But Guirassy remains the beacon of hope.

From his hat trick against Bayern Munich in Der Klassiker to his unforgettable Champions League winner against Atletico Madrid, the striker's proven time and again that he thrives under pressure.

Yet, Kovač's also concerned about over reliance on his forward:

“I want him to play as much as possible but also rest sometimes, he's our only real center forward, so he must play”

Ramadan Challenges & Tactical Battles

As practicing Muslim, Guirassy's fasting during Ramadan making his performances even more remarkable. Kovac acknowledges the challenge but has faith in his player’s professionalism:

“The fact that it’s Ramadan doesn’t make it easier for hi but he’s absolute professional. He’ll manage it”

Dortmund faces Augsburg next, side with rock solid defense, having conceded only 2 goal in their last 8 league games. Breaking them down will require Dortmund’s full attacking force with Guirassy once again at the heart of it.
