Bayern Munich's goalkeeper and captain Manuel Neuer has made a pivotal decision regarding his future.

Details: According to Sky Sport, the 40-year-old veteran has expressed his desire to extend his contract with the German giants. The Munich management has already put forward an offer that would see Neuer remain at the club until 2027.

A key stage in negotiations came with the visit of the player's agent, Thomas Kroth, who arrived at the club's office today. The parties have already held preliminary talks regarding financial terms and deal details, though a final agreement has yet to be reached.

Meanwhile, Bayern is also shaping the future of its goalkeeping department. Reports indicate that young talent Jonas Urbig is expected to see significantly more game time next season than he did in the current campaign, underlining the club's strategy for a gradual generational transition between the posts.

It's worth noting that this season, the German shot-stopper has played 35 matches for Bayern across all competitions, keeping 11 clean sheets.

Reminder: Ousmane Dembélé, after his brace against Bayern, was named Champions League Player of the Week.
