The Fury-Joshua fight is at risk of falling through. What's the problem?

The long-awaited bout between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, scheduled to take place on December 11 in Cardiff, has unexpectedly been thrown into doubt. The reason is a dispute between the British boxers' promoters, BBC Sport reports.

“Anthony Joshua and Eddie Hearn are trying to pull out of this fight. They are saying they will not fight now,” Fury wrote on social media, accusing the promoter of jeopardizing the biggest bout.

Hearn, in turn, said that Dana White cannot be involved in organizing the fight because of existing contractual obligations. He noted that Netflix had not received the appropriate notification, meaning the parties will now have to resolve the situation.

At the same time, Fury's promoter Frank Warren claims that White played an important role in securing the deal with Netflix. As a result, the long-running saga surrounding the proposed Fury-Joshua showdown has taken another twist.

The sides had been trying to make this fight happen since 2020, but previous negotiations repeatedly ended without result. Now even the bout that had already been officially announced has been thrown into doubt.
