The management of the French Nantes did not delay the search for a new head coach. This is Jocelyn Gourvennec, according to the official website of the French club.

It is interesting that this specialist has been unemployed since June 2022. The 51-year-old coach replaced Pierre Aristouy, who lost his position this week.

Gourvennec signed a contract with the Canaries until the end of the season. The agreement also stipulates the possibility of extending the agreement for another year.

Interestingly, Gourvennec is a former Nantes player. He played for the French team from 1995 to 1998 and then scored 32 goals in 109 matches.

As a mentor he worked with Guingamp, Bordeaux and Lille. Being under his leadership, Lille won the French Super Cup and reached the playoffs of the Champions League, but finished in 10th place in the standings. After such results, the management decided to replace Jocelyn with the famous Portuguese Paulo Fonseca.

Based on the results of 13 rounds, Nantes ranks eleventh in the French Championship standings. In the last four rounds, the team lost three times and drew once.

It is remarkable that Lyon may soon get a new coach.
