"The time has come to say goodbye and engage in other things that I have been looking forward to after so many years," the footballer wrote.

Diego Lopez's last club in his career was Rayo Vallecano, which he left last summer. Last season, Lopez played 5 matches for them in all competitions.

Diego Lopez is best known for his performances for Real Madrid, for which he played 73 matches. The Spaniard also has 37 appearances for Milan, 11 for Sevilla, 230 for Villarreal, and 213 for Espanyol. He played only 1 match for the Spanish national team.
