South Korea's K-League main star, Jesse Lingard, who plays for FC Seoul, has had a less than stellar start to his new phase of his career.

Following the victory over Jeju United, the former midfielder of Manchester United and the English national team faced public criticism from the team's head coach, Kim Gi-don:

“Even though he came on as a substitute, he didn’t work hard and avoided tussle. The name value has no meaning on the pitch. I will tell him this exactly”.

Lingard has participated in all 3 starting matches of the K-League season. However, the 31-year-old Englishman was only included in the starting lineup in one of them.

Before moving to South Korea, Lingard's last club was Nottingham Forest. He also played for West Ham, Brighton, Birmingham, and Derby County.
