The former Kenyan national footballer has appeared in court over the murder of a three-year-old girl
Former footballer Collins Ogot and his co-accused Sylvia Aoko have appeared in court after several months in detention to face murder charges.
Details: According to court documents, the alleged murder took place in the Lucky Summer area of Nairobi on the night of April 21, 2024. Both defendants maintain their innocence.
Ogot, known for his time with Gor Mahia and the Kenyan national team, and Aoko are being tried in connection with the tragic death of three-year-old Skovian Maya, who died under suspicious circumstances.
After undergoing several medical evaluations, the court confirmed that Ogot and Aoko are fit to stand trial. During the hearing, prosecutor Gikui Gachuhi strongly opposed granting bail to the defendants.
