The former captain of the Fulham women's team spoke about sexual assault by the club's former owner
The former owner of the English club Fulham, Mohamed Al-Fayed, who passed away last year, is accused of sexual assault. One of his victims was Ronnie Gibbons, a former player of the women's team.
Details: Ronnie, the former captain of Fulham Ladies, revealed that a club employee informed her that the 71-year-old Al-Fayed wanted her to visit Harrods, one of the largest department stores in the world, owned by the oligarch. She was to meet his children and discuss team affairs.
Quote: “I was called into his office, where he was alone. He said, 'Oh, I'm very sorry, but there was a leak of information, and my children couldn't come.' Then he pulled me close and tried to kiss me on the lips while holding my hands. I slightly turned my head so he could only kiss me on the cheek,” Gibbons shared in an interview with The Sun.
She added that Al-Fayed asked her about her personal life and offered to buy her an apartment and a car. As she was leaving, he again tried to kiss her. According to her, he also gave her an envelope containing "500-600 pounds in £50 notes," as well as chocolate, perfume, and other gifts.
Reminder: It is worth noting that after Al-Fayed's death at the age of 94, about 500 women came forward with claims of sexual assault or rape against him. The police are currently investigating 61 reports.
