The former Barcelona talent has returned to La Liga

Central midfielder Ilaix Moriba has officially swapped RB Leipzig for Getafe. The Spanish club has signed the 20-year-old player on loan until the end of the season.

The agreement between the clubs includes a buyout option. It is also known that Getafe will cover Moriba's salary. The transfer of this particular player was the desire of the head coach, Jose Bordalas.

Ilaix Moriba was considered one of the most promising graduates of the Barcelona academy. In the 2020/21 season, he played 18 matches for his home club, scoring 1 goal and providing 3 assists.

In the summer of 2021, Moriba moved to RB Leipzig for 16 million euros but played only 6 matches for the German club. Last season, the young Guinean midfielder played on loan for Valencia.

After 19 rounds, Getafe is currently in eighth place in the La Liga standings.
