The former Barcelona and Chelsea defender will sign for the La Liga outsider of the previous season

Renowned left-back Marcos Alonso, currently a free agent, has found a new club.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the 33-year-old is set to sign a contract with Celta Vigo. Celta has already agreed on all the terms with Alonso. However, the club still needs to resolve its financial fair play issues before registering the new signing.

At the moment, Alonso is just waiting for the "green light" from the club to finalize the deal.

Earlier reports suggested that Manchester United was considering Alonso to strengthen their left flank, but Fabrizio Romano clarified that the "Red Devils" were never interested in him.

Over two seasons with Barcelona, Marcos Alonso made 45 appearances and scored 3 goals, although he missed most of last season due to injury.
