Manchester United's sporting director, John Murtough, is officially leaving the club. This announcement was made by the Red Devils' press service.

Murtough has worked at the club for almost 11 years, holding various positions. It is expected that Dan Ashworth, known for his work at Newcastle, will fill the vacant position.

“He leaves with our best wishes for the future. After 11 years of tireless work for the club, John has mutually agreed with us that now is the right time to step aside and allow the new football leadership structure to be put in place. He will always be welcome back at Manchester United as a friend of the club”. Joel Glazer, co-chairman of Manchester United, said.

Earlier, we reported that Real Madrid could make a shocking transfer move for a Manchester United player in the summer.
